WHO WE ARE

Amber Louise Howard has 24+ years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She has expertise to assess and treat a range of mental health difficulties, ‘behaviours of concern’ displayed by clients with intellectual and/or physical disabilities with recent NDIS experience, parental and relationship stress, trauma-focused client services with EMDR expertise, as well as addressing a broad array of sleep difficulties.

All assessments, interventions, supervision, and workshops are also evidence-based. This means all assessments are reliable and valid measures, with all therapeutic interventions proven to produce long and lasting change.

Clinical Psychology therapeutic services

Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) approved clinical psychology services are available for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Evidence-based assessments and interventions are provided to support clients address a broad array of life challenges, including:

  • Mental health difficulties – anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, suicidal ideation
  • Trauma (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: PTSD) is treated with Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) techniques
  • Life stressors including sudden unemployment, parenting and/or relationship distress
  • A broad array of sleep difficulties
  • Behaviours of concern displayed by individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID) and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) approved supervision

Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) approved supervision is available for clinicians across all registration pathways. This includes:

  • Post-graduate students on placement
  • 4+2 Provisional Psychologists
  • 5+1 Provisional Psychologists
  • Clinical psychology registrar program leading to endorsement
  • Compliance and Monitoring
  • Working in addition to higher degree placements
  • Re-entry program after a period of not practising
  • Registered psychologists and Clinical Psychologists
  • Transitional program for overseas-qualified applicants

Psychology Board of Australia approved Supervision Workshops and Master Classes

  • Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) approved Psychology Supervision Workshops support experienced psychologists to gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and practice to be deemed eligible to apply to become a Board-approved supervisor (BAS)
  • Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) approved Master Classes provide experienced Board approved supervisors (BAS) with the necessary knowledge, skills, and practice in an area of interest. Training in a Board approved Maste Class is required within five years to maintain Board approvals to supervise.
  • Registration as a Psychology Board of Australia approved Supervisor (BAS) is also recognised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
